Servest Landscaping was appointed in 2010 by Stadium Management South Africa to manage the First National Bank Stadium. The contract included the maintenance of the Orlando, the Rand and Dobsonville Stadiums.
Servest was responsible for the pitch maintenance of the First National Bank Stadium and installed the Desso Grassmaster system. The Desso system uses synthetic fibres which are woven into the growing medium providing stability and improves the pitches wear resistence. Perennial rye grass is used and inter-seeded with Bermuda grass in the summer months.
Prior to concerts taking place at the Stadium, the entire pitch is covered by a customized modular floor protecting it from pedestrian and equipment traffic. This takes approximately two to three days to install with the Servest team responsible for all logistics and handover to the event organisers. All turf machinery used on site meets global standards to ensure a world class playing surface.
Servest Security was contracted to the First National Bank Stadium in 2012. The stadium required an integrated security solution to secure all sporting events, live concerts and any private or government events. Servest is able to support these by providing guarding services, patrol dogs and the use of technology to manage all its security solutions.
