1997
- Kenton Fine and Dennis Zietsman established Servest in April.
- Servest makes its first acquisition – of the Durban based washroom and hygiene business, Total Hygiene Services.
1998
- Servest expands its operations to include Cleaning, Laundries, Security and Marine Services by acquiring various entrepreneurially owned business.
- On 6 August, Servest lists on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
- Servest acquires Office Automation, Mail Logistics, Waste Management and High-tech Security Surveillance businesses.
1999
- Servest acquires Real Landscapes and The Office Plant, and enters the horticultural market.
- Showing its global ambitions, Servest acquires the UK based cleaning and security company, Executive Group.
2000
- Acquires the sports field and turf specialist company, Turftek.
- Opens a security surveillance office in the USA.
- Servest acquires a waste managemetn business in Australia.
2001
- Servest’s UK operations grow, with the acquisition of cleaning franchise operator Ecocleen.
2002
- With the help of African Merchant Bank, Servest management effects a management buy-out and delists from the JSE.
2003
- Attractive offers sees Servest selling its global operations to focus solely on its South African operations.
2006
- With African Merchant Bank leaving the business, management increases their stake to 53% and concludes a BEE deal with Safika and RMB Corvest who take up the balance of the equity.
2008
- Servest ventures into the parking management industry.
2010
- A global rebrand results in operations integrated under the Servest brand.
2011
- Servest expands operations into the rest of Africa, acquiring Easipark and using this as its base for growth into the continent.
2012
- Servest acquires Camp Management and Catering businesses in Africa.
2013
- Taking the first step towards becoming an Integrated Facilities Manager and Public Private Partnership operator, Servest acquires ECH Solutions which operates in South Africa and Botswana.
2015
- With the exit of RMB Corvest and Safika, Kagiso Tiso Holdings acquires 51% of Servest, making it the largest black-owned facilities management company in Africa.
2018
- Servest merges its UK business with global facilities management group Atalian, which sees Servest Africa leaving the business.
2019
- Servest remains a leading black owned facilties management company in Africa.
